Riyadh, May 13 (NQA) – The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, took part in the Arab-European Cities Dialogue Forum held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from May 11 to 13, under the theme “City Partnerships for a Better Future.”

The Qatari delegation was led by Engineer Turki Fahd Al Turki, Assistant Undersecretary for Urban Planning Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality.

Eng. Al Turki participated in a roundtable session titled “City Partnerships,” during which he highlighted Qatar’s municipal achievements, shared insights on advancing municipal work, and exchanged expertise with fellow participants.

The forum serves as a strategic platform to enhance city diplomacy and foster cooperation between Arab and European cities, aiming to promote inclusive and sustainable urban development. It brought together over 100 mayors and municipal leaders from across the Arab world and Europe, as well as international organizations, municipal unions, development funds, and donor institutions focused on supporting urban development initiatives.

Discussions throughout the forum focused on key urban challenges, including infrastructure development, municipal service quality, digital transformation, sustainable financing, climate change, and multi-level cooperation between cities and stakeholders. The event was organized by Riyadh Municipality in collaboration with the Arab Urban Development Institute, PLATFORMA (the European platform of local and regional governments), and the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities.
