Tehran, May 13 (NQA) – A delegation from Qatar’s General Authority of Customs, led by H.E. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Chairman of the Authority, concluded a two-day visit to Tehran aimed at enhancing customs cooperation with the Iranian Customs Administration.

The two sides discussed key areas of collaboration, including the development of customs procedures, training and expertise exchange, and joint efforts to combat smuggling and customs violations. The visit concluded with the signing of meeting minutes outlining mechanisms to implement the mutual administrative assistance agreement between Qatar and Iran.

H.E. Al Jamal met with H.E. Foroud Askari, Deputy Minister of Economy and Head of the Iranian Customs Administration, to explore avenues for technical cooperation and expanding collaboration across various customs functions.

Additionally, the Qatari delegation held talks with H.E. Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and Chairman of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran. Discussions focused on enhancing trade exchange and the role of customs in facilitating and promoting import and export activities between the two countries.
